Thorpe in better timesChampion Swimmer Ian Thorpe is expected to announce his future midday Today in Sydney. This comes after weekend reports Thorpe is over training and not likely to swim in the world championships next year.
"In today's world the standard is improving so dramatically ... to stay out of it now is the kiss of death," former national coach Don Talbot said. "The Olympics won't wait for him."
Thorpe's coach, Tracey Menzies, and technical consultant Milt Nelms said yesterday they would meet him today to decide on the Brisbane trials.
